KANI GORDON HAIR GROUP'S TEAM IS A GROUP OF SMP INK SPECIALISTS SERVING IN THE ATLANTA, GA AREA. SCALP MICRO PIGMENTATION

WHAT IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION (SMP)?

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a non-invasive treatment that uses detailed micro-needles to deposit pigment into the scalp. The result creates the appearance of tiny hair follicles that help thicken and restore the look of fuller hair. If you are starting to thin, recede, or if you are completely bald, we can give you the look of a short buzz cut.

When administered by a trained and licensed specialist, the Scalp Micropigmentation treatment can restore receded hairlines, thicken remaining hair, camouflage transplant scarring, and create the look of close-cropped hair.

Who is SMP FOR?

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is the ideal solution for those that suffer from pattern baldness and have lost a lot of hair. By creating the follicle look throughout all of the balding areas, a client can achieve the look of a full head of short-cropped hair immediately!

Scalp Micropigmentation  is also great for those with only minor thinning or recession. By accurately replicating your own natural hair follicles and hair color, scalp pigmentation can help strengthen and add density to thinning areas, creating an undetectable illusion of thicker, stronger hair.

SMP Frequently Asked Questions

What is Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP)

Scalp Micropigmentation is essentially a hair tattoo that mimics a hair follicle, giving the appearance of a full head of hair. Using hair-color pigment, a needle is used to inject the pigment into the areas of the head affected by hair loss. Unlike other hair restoration methods, scalp micro pigmentation is non-invasive, quick, and shows immediate results.

How much does Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP) cost?

Our pricing is based on the level of hair loss, which is different for each client. Typically, the price ranges between $1500 – $5,000. All appointments require a consultation so our team can evaluate your case and provide a personalized price quote based on your hair loss needs.

How many treatments should I expect?

Scalp micropigmentation should never be considered a one treatment process. Most clients can expect between 2-4 sessions to complete their treatment depending on the extent of hair loss or scarring. At Kani Gordon Hair Group we have back to back weeks on the same day of the week. So when you book your first session expect to return the following week for up to two weeks after.

Does it hurt?

Most people who undergo Scalp Micro Pigmentation report minimal pain. While the needles are fairly large and scary looking, hair tattoos are less painful than traditional tattoos. And unlike some other hair restoration procedures, patients won’t feel pain after scalp Micro Pigmentation. Some soreness is to be expected, but the pain of this procedure is very little. In the event that you do feel pain will provide an anesthetic 30 minutes before your arrival time.

Before your session we offer an anesthetic  but we first make sure you have no form of allergies.

How long are the sessions?

The Scalp Micropigmentation treatment typically takes 2-4 hours per session depending on your degree of hair loss. Most clients can expect between 2-4 sessions to complete their treatment depending on the extent of hair loss or scarring.

How long do the results last?

After completion of your treatment (2-4 sessions) a client should expect the strength of the color to last for many years. Over a longer term, a client will very gradually begin to notice slight lightening (not discolor) of the treatment. When this occurs we recommend our SMP refresher session to restore any fading and secure many more years of their style. We recommend an SMP refresher once a year.

Is Scalp Micropigmentation detectable?

Scalp micropigmentation has become such an effective hair loss solution because of its consistently natural and undetectable results. Kani Gordon Hair Group prides itself on the ability to seamlessly replicate each individual hair follicle to create a perfect match for each client.

Do I need to take time off work?

Scalp micropigmentation is non-invasive and requires no down time. In most cases, you will not need to take any extended time away from work, school, or other functions. After treatment it is common to notice slight redness on the scalp for 2-3 days post session. This redness subsides quickly and most clients return to work either right away or within a couple days.

Where are you located?

We are located in Atlanta, GA in Grant Park Area.

How do I choose my hairline?

If you are unsure of what style or type of hairline will work for you, your treatment specialist will be there to help. With artistic experience on how to fit a hairline to head shape and age, your specialist can help recommend what’s best.

What is the difference between scalp micropigmentation, hair tattoo, micropigmentation and scalp tattoo?

Scalp Micropigmentation is not just a traditional tattoo. Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a form of permanent cosmetics, but unlike tattooing or permanent makeup, the treatment replicates the look of short cut hair by using pointillism techniques. Scalp Micropigmentation utilizes different equipment than traditional tattooing, ensuring the needle and machine are designed specifically for micropigmentation of the scalp.

Will it change color like tattoos?

No, however the amount of ink used is definitely determined by the client’s body oil type. Some individuals are more oily than others. The pigment contains no additional colorants or additives and will only lighten, not discolor over an extended time.

Scalp micropigmentation also utilizes different equipment than traditional tattooing, ensuring the needle and machine are designed specifically for micropigmentation of the scalp.

If I have hair left, can I leave it long?

Depending upon the pattern and extent of the thinning hair, some clients are able to maintain a longer length of hair. Scalp pigmentation can help thicken areas so that less of the scalp is seen showing through. However, if there is a strong pattern of hair loss or just not a lot of hair density left, the client is recommended to crop it shorter.

Scalp Micropigmentation is used to add density to thinning areas. We are able to add thickness to areas common areas like the crown, hair parting and more. For people that are using scalp micropigmentation to rebuild their hairline, we recommend keeping your hair short for a more balanced look.

Will Scalp Micro Pigmentation work with gray hair?

Yes, those with gray hair can still benefit from the scalp micropigmentation procedure. Most clients are recommended to cut their hair to a short buzzed length. When this is done, gray hair does not appear as gray because the hair root itself is darker. Hair only shows gray as it gets longer.

Can Scalp Micropigmentation camouflage my transplant scar?

Yes! By replicating tiny hair follicles inside the scarring and blending the color around the scarring area, transplant and surgical scars can see massive improvement in concealment.

If I am lighter or darker skin tone will this treatment still look good?

Yes! We are able to match the shade of our pigment to a wide range of skin tones. Whether you are Caucasian, African-American, Hispanic, Asian, or Pacific Islander and much more…scalp micropigmentation can work for you.

How long until I can sweat after the Scalp Micropigmentation treatment?

We recommend no heavy sweating or intense exercise for 4-5 days after your Scalp Micropigmentation treatment. After your session you will receive an SMP Aftercare Guide with proper instructions on how to take care of your new look.

Can Scalp Micropigmentation camouflage my transplant scar?

Yes! By replicating tiny hair follicles inside the scarring and blending the color around the scarring area, transplant and surgical scars can see massive improvement in concealment.

Will Scalp Micro Pigmentation grow my hair back?

No, the Scalp Micropigmentation treatment will not grow your hair back. However, the SMP treatment will give you the look of short hair or a tight buzz-cut. We recommend keeping your hair at a shorter length to create the most natural outcome.
